2D Logo Reveal Animation.
Brief
The outline for this project was to create a short logo reveal for a South African music artist - and if the artist did not possess a logo one would need to be created.
Short Rationale
The chosen music artist for this logo reveal animation was Matthew Mole - a singer-songwriter originating from Cape Town, South Africa. The ghost character is commonly associated with Matthew Mole as it appeared on his 2019 album "GHOST". Given there was no official logo present, using this ghost character together with the 'mole' text which appears on his merchandise, formed the basis for the logo.
At the beginning of the logo reveal two eyes are revealed that proceed to look left and right, to attempt to make it seem somewhat organic in its movement I applied easy ease to the position keyframes. Following this I made the ghost chase the word mole from left to right. To best replicate the motion of a ghost I used the wiggle rotation effect as well as the wave warp effect. At this stage the word mole reaches the ghost in the centre, to illustrate a shocked emotion from the word I added various lines with the dancing dissolve blending mode enabled, in addition the opacity is changed to quickly make the lines appear and disappear. Once the word mole and the ghost meet in the centre the ghost loops the word where it morphs into different versions of the ghost to make its movement seem more organic, this was done by keyframing the path of the ghost and changing the paths values. The final reveal of the logo happens where the ghost morphs into the logo ghost and the word mole is scaled down with keyframes to merge with the ghost in a sense and both have a gradual glow effect and noise alpha applied as well. CC Vignette gradually changes and focuses on the final reveal of the logo.
